Franklin Was Issuing an Admonition
In adopting a Constitution, the founders were anxious to provide for the orderly function of government by the people that would allow for their diversity to be an asset in allowing them to be about one another’s flourishing. The hardening of political factions has paralyzed our government, preventing it from creating that necessary order. In this book, Vial diagnosis why this has happened and suggests very specific reforms that would allow us to chose leaders that put good public policy before loyalty to party, and reach for that vision that drove the founders to that work that we now look back on as so important.
